Today, in the D.C. federal district court, we sued the Trump administration for making a dangerous and unlawful agreement with the government of El Salvador to illegally disappear asylum seekers, and others, to Salvadoran prisons. Under this deal, asylum seekers—including LGBTQ individuals—have been secretly transferred to Salvadoran prisons without due process. This includes asylum seekers like Andry Hernandez Romero, a gay makeup artist from Venezuela, who was sent to CECOT, a prison known for its inhumane conditions and reports of abuse.
